I would have to agree with you that John was a monster! both size wise and playing ability. What was amazing was that he had the ability to play hard and loud but could play soft (dynamics) when needed. Hell, I would be honored if Bonzo sat at my kit! Who cares if he breaks a head! I’d make him sign it of course as payment =). Another drummer that I admire is Niel Peart from Rush. Now that man has dynamics and a very fluid style. Humble too.
